Now Available, the Avnet App for Autodesk Fusion Helps Hardware Designers Optimize Their BOMs
Avnet's add-in helps hardware designers with useful tools for selecting components, comparing prices, optimizing BOMs, and much more.
Autodesk Fusion is very powerful software and it just got better, thanks to Avnet's new add-in. Now available on the Autodesk App Store, the Avnet App helps hardware designers streamline their workflows with useful tools that aid in selecting components, comparing prices, optimizing BOMs, and integrating reference designs.
This add-in leverages Avnet’s vast catalog of components and expertise to make hardware design decision-making faster and easier.
At the most basic level, the Avnet App lets designers search for components, while comparing prices, functionality, availability, and lead times. There is also a library of downloadable schematics designers can insert directly into their projects or use as references. Instead of rebuilding reference designs from static datasheets, designers can access and use the functional schematics immediately.
But the Avnet App’s functionality goes far beyond that by integrating robust data analysis and BOM optimization tools. Real-time data access, through Avnet’s own comprehensive network, provides up-to-date information on component pricing and availability at a glance. Visual data insights, complete with friendly charts, give designers the ability to evaluate their selections, identifying high-cost components and lead times that may influence project timelines.
The BOM optimization tools are particularly powerful. With those tools, designers can identify components that may not be ideal and automatically locate more suitable alternatives. The alternate parts list finds and presents drop-in substitute components compatible with the design — no more sifting through parts catalogs and scouring datasheets.
Then, designers can quickly export their BOMs in a variety of popular formats to share with the rest of the team. If at any point a designer requires more assistance to work within a project budget, they can contact an expert Avnet representative directly through the Avnet App.
