The Story
Alex Neskin created Petcube to play with his dog Rocky. Rocky barked and scratched the walls every time when he was left alone and the neighbors were quite annoyed with this noise. After they threatened to call the police Alex had to think up of some way to entertain his puppy from afar.
The first prototype consisted of an Audrino board, two servos, a web-camera and a simple laser pointer. The camera was connected to a web-interface that let Alex and his friends play with Rocky.
Mobile App
Petcube app lets you play with your pet using a laser pointer, share fun pics and videous with your friends and communicate with other pet owners. You can also browse public petcubes to play with various pets from anywhere and share access to your device with friends or the whole Petcube network. If you don't have a pet or Petcube yet, you can easily play with the public ones.
The browsing screen of the app allows people to find a dog or cat they’d like to play with. The timeline portion of the app combines information about the app users, their pet, and their device. Users can browse recent photos and activity of device owners, leave messages, and follow users to see future updates in the newsfeed.
