Electric Paint Circuit Kit

Story

With this article I would like to share my enthusiasm for my second use of a conductive paint (Electric Paint in Black) in a project. the low price (10 euro) and the advent season have caused me to invite my godchild, 7 years and to experiment a little. For the 3rd Advent, this kit offered an excellent opportunity to spend some time together and to learn something about electrical circuits.

What You Get

In summary, there is little for the 10 euros: 1 cardboard form for the circuit, which is to be painted with the "Electric Paint" paint and some houses including a bus, which can fold exactly and be stuck together. Additional glue is not necessary - but you get in advance a 9V block battery (or alternative).

In addition there are still a few LEDs, which can bring in with the clear imprint of the polarity (+ and -) error-free on the template in the placeholders. The LEDs themselves are not sticky: just apply a drop of Electric Paint paint on both sides. The drying process of the paint is enough to fix the LEDs.

Preparation

Worth mentioning is a short introduction, which is in the chic box.

Otherwise, this kit is correctly classified as a "beginner"-kit: the button illuminates the bus with the LED below, but anyone who has expected the bus to move on the street will be disappointed.

Let's Start

Cramp up the sweater sleeves and put a wet cloth for your fingers and fire free to trace the routing with the conductive paint!

Uses the drying time (15 minutes, but it takes longer without a hair dryer) for folding the building and the vehicle.

The Result

In the evening we tried our circuit, with a 3.7V Li-Ion Battery, because we did not have a 9V block battery available. Unless the LEDs light up right away, a tiny speck of paint carries more paint on its ends and checks your painted streets. Are the connections closed?
