As you can see from the signs of wear on the phone charging station, this charging station accompanies me for a few years.
Recently I could not charge my mobile phone devices and ordered a new charging station for around 15 Euro shipping inclusive. Finally my family members get nervous when the phone is not available.
I already wanted to dispose of the defective charging cradle today, but I took a closer look at the thing.
Part 1The opening screws were hidden under the anti-slip circles.
After I loosened the 4 screws, I could easily remove the lid.
A 12V DC barrel jack appeared on which (+) and (-) were guided with simple strands to a piece of bent sheet metal.
With the insertion of the phone into the charging cradle, I regularly pressed down the contacts.
The sheets were pre-cut and should be fixed by indentations. My (+) contact, however, had broken loose.
Part 2I first tried with superglue between the sheet metal contact and the plastic of the charging cradle: without success of liability.
The solution was then a little hot glue: one drop was enough and the contact was fixed.
Oh one more thing: the charger shown here, there is the small parts shipping from AVM, Berlin no longer to buy. Instead, the compatible charger "C5" is recommended. He is a little more compact and heavier.
Had I allowed myself a tiny window of opportunity to get to the bottom of the cause of the problem, I would have saved myself the expense of obtaining a new one.
