I got a bunch of relatively new ATTiny1626 chips and after spending some time getting excited about how lovely they are (below), made a minimum development board for them. As always, I had a few design guidelines for development boards which more-or-less personal, but I believe they'll ease the burden of prototyping a lot. So the final board has these features:
- Narrow and breadboard-ableLeaves 4 pin rows on each side of an standard breadboard; much like a normal DIP IC; way more narrow than an Arduino board.
- On-board UPDI programmerWith a turn of a switch it can switch between UPDI programmer (pymcuprog compatible) or a general purpose USB-UART bridge on the fly.
- Smart pin notationDefault SPI/I2C/UART pins are noted on the PCB for easier connection.
